We have had a fabulous time being inventive with our Beast Creator Topic. The children have enjoyed using nature to create artwork, creating their own bugs, having a visit from lots of different minibeasts and taking part in I'm a Sandringham Pupil Get Me Out of Here! Here are some pictures from a range of minibeast activities. Thank you for your support in creating fabulous costumes for minbeast day and home learning.

Year 5 will be holding an Egyptian Museum day on Tuesday 29th November. You will have chance to view and purchase some of the children's artwork and purchase refreshments including homemade bread.

The museum will be open from 2:45 until 3:15. Also, children will be completing tasks in the hall, which you can join in with.

Hope to see lots of parents and guardians there.

Year 5 had a fantastic space day and we loved seeing all the amazing costumes. We went in the planetarium, made rockets, did a rocket dance and created space scenes for a film. Here are some of the pictures, so you can see what we got up to.

We expect every child to read at least 3 times a week. All children are working towards a half term treat - when children read 3 or more times, this is noted and they are one step closer to gaining their reward!

We are really encouraging our classes to develop their reading. Children can read whatever they want at home, e.g. newspapers, magazines and books. Thank you for your support with their reading and home learning activities.

Home Learning and Spellings

From the last years success, this year's Home Learning will be the termly take away menu. One task should be completed each week and returned on Thursday! A weekly worksheet option will also be available relating to the weeks literacy or maths. Activities will also be available on the ‘ My maths’ website for your children to complete every week.

Any homework not returned will be caught up with during a playtime.

Children will also be given weekly spellings in their homework book ready to learn for the following Friday's spelling test.

Home Learning Menus for each half term are available to access on this post.

Year 5 P.E days are Monday and Wednesday

Please can you make sure that your child has their PE kit in school everyday. As we often have visitors from outside the school (sports coaches) we may have the opportunity to take part in different sporting activities on different days.

All children will require their PE kit. This should be a white top and black/navy shorts. The children will need trainers for outdoor sports and as the weather gets colder a jumper and jogging bottoms are recommended. The correct kit is important for health and safety!
