Roald Dahl Day - Information

On Tuesday 13th September 2016, we are holding a Roald Dahl day in school where we will be celebrating the work of the famous children's author, looking at his books and his loved characters. We will also be using the day to promote children's love of reading, as we will be providing them with lots of different reading opportunities and experiences, as well as fun and exciting activities linked with his work.

Children can come to school for the day dressed as either a Roald Dahl character (think Umpa Lumpas, James and the Giant Peach, The Twits) or come dressed in Roald Dahl's favourite colour - YELLOW!

We are also holding a number of fundraising events to raise money for new books for our school libraries. If all children could donate £1, or bring a brand new book for our library, we would be so grateful.

Our fundraising activities will include:
- A Willy Wonka bake sale - buns and biscuits will be sold outside of the hut for a small donation, however, if you could donate any baked goods, we would be so grateful!
- A 'Guess the Teacher' book quiz - winners will receive a book prize in Celebration Assembly on 16th September.

Thank you again for your continued support.
