Orienteering Regional Competition

On Wednesday 5th July, a group of eight Year 4 children travelled with Miss Cannon and Mrs Cokeham to Abbeydale Sports Club in Sheffield to compete in the regional finals for orienteering.
First, we went to the opening ceremony where we met schools from Doncaster, Barnsley, Rotherham, and Sheffield. We watched some cheerleading, skipping, England's strongest man, and then Olympian Emily Freeman

We walked around in front of cameras, and had our pictures taken for the newspaper before setting off to Whirlowbrook Hall to start the competition.

We had to run in pairs to different points on a map to find a unique stamp to stamp our cards before running back to our team and swapping places.
There were children there from all over South Yorkshire and we were all given t-shirts to represent where we had come from.

Orienteering: July 2017

As you can see, we had a great day! Bring on next year!
