Composer Top Trumps Cards

posted 22 Oct 2020, 02:35 by Louise Sutton

Following on from your music lesson where you created a small fact file for some Romantic Composers, I would like you to create some top trumps cards.

I have included an example template for Classical Composers so replace the information of Classical composers for Romantic composes. You could do it in power point like I have done or you could do some hand written ones. You choose how best to create these cards, then we can have a game of top trumps when we come back after half term.

Instrumental Lessons

All new recorder, clarinet and violin places have now been taken, which is great news and the families of the children concerned have been contacted. You should have received an email from myself with either a letter in regards to clarinet lessons or a sign up link from the music service for violin lessons. If you have signed your child up and haven't received an email then please don't hesitate to contact me. Recorder players have been sent a text message asking them to remember their recorder on Friday.

I am really excited that despite the current circumstances that performing arts is still a priority at Sandringham and am really excited to hear the lessons develop, as we prepare for our virtual Christmas Concert!

Instrumental Lessons

posted 18 Sep 2020, 08:34 by Louise Sutton

I am pleased to tell you that there will be places in the clarinet and recorder lessons, which will be starting from October, and hopefully in the New Year for guitar and violin. On Monday your grown-ups should receive an email with a letter attached telling you the information about how to sign up for these lessons.

If you don't already play an instrument in school and would like to be considered for a place then please ask your grown-up to email me: arts@sandringham.school telling me what instrument you would like to be considered for by Monday 28th September.

Instrumental Lessons - Clarinet, Guitar, Violin

posted 8 Sep 2020, 12:18 by Louise Sutton

Just a plea to those of you who play a musical instrument in school....Your parents have received an email with a letter asking if you would like to continue your lessons again this year. I am sorry your lessons were cut short last year and that we didn't get to do all our concerts but I am hoping we can make up for it as we move through the school year!

Please ask your grown up to check their email and send the reply slip back or just email me: arts@sandringham.school if you would like to continue with your instrumental lessons by Friday. (I really hope you do!)

If you don't send me an email I will assume you don't want to carry on with your lessons.

If you decide you don't want to, that makes me sad but it is perfectly ok, but you will need to bring your violin and clarinet back to school please.

Your first day in Toucan Class! Welcome everybody!

Hello everybody,

I hope you have all had a fantastic Summer and have done lots of wonderful activities over the past few weeks.

I am very excited to meet you all and I am really looking forward to getting to know each and everyone one of you. We are going to have a wonderful year together and I cannot wait to welcome you into the school doors tomorrow!

I am extremely happy to have received so many of your 'All About Me' worksheets. They have all been brilliant! We are going to have an incredible day tomorrow getting to know each other even more!

Don't worry if you're feeling slightly nervous about returning to school tomorrow, it is perfectly normal and I will help the best I can by answering any questions you may have!

See you all tomorrow,

Miss Walker
