Welcome to Bear Class
Remote Learning
Hi
Bear Class, Mrs Shepherd and Mrs Faulkner x |
Happy Christmas Holidays!
Well done everyone for such a lovely first term in school. Mrs Sheppard and I have been really pleased with the children and the progress they have made. They have all grown in confidence and independence and eager to share their ideas and learning with us. Next term we are learning about, Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen. We are looking forward to being Explorers as we enjoy learning about animals and environments, and planning journeys and making maps. How can you help? You can read this book with your child and find this story on-line to share with them. You can enjoy a walk in the woods or by the stream. You could play hide and seek with a bear. Stocking Filler If you are looking for something for Santa to put in your child's stocking....... Please would you ask him for some mittens, as the children would then be able to learn to put their mittens on independently. We would love to see your child show us how to put them on independently after the Christmas holiday! Boxes, tubs and tubes, lids and so on. Please would you kindly save small items of recycling for us to use in school for box-modelling. No medicine boxes or plastic meat containers. Thank you. Spare Clothes We will also be sending your child home with their spare clothes. Please would you wash them and check that they still fit and then send them back to school in a named bag. We have had some bags brought into school without names, so we are hoping to find the right home for them. On behalf of all the staff in Nursery, we would like to wish you all a very peaceful Christmas and a very happy new year. Mrs Faulkner, Mrs Sheppard |
Nursery update
Hi everyone! Mrs Faulkner and I would just like to say how lovely the children have settled into our school during their first half term. We have seen some lovely friendships starting to blossom! We have enjoyed lots of learning highlights, including our firework activities this week. The children have created firework paintings, drawn huge fireworks on the pavements with chalks and used fingers to make patterns in glitter! The children have thoroughly enjoyed themselves. This half term we are learning all about rhyme, using the text Each Peach Pear Plum to help us with our learning. We are also starting to think about initial sounds in words through games and activities so we can then lead into our Read Write Inc phonics teaching after Christmas. Just a few notes/reminders: · Please could you bring in any spare cardboard boxes and tubes for the children to use in our craft station? We will be getting creative making binoculars and telescopes to play I spy. They will be quarantined so they will be safe for our children to use. · Could you please make sure your child has a change of clothes in school and all items are named. · Children need to be coming into school with a jumper and warm coat now that the weather is turning much colder. · Water bottles need to have water only as this is school policy. Thank you for your continued support and remember that you can contact us at bears@sandringham.school |
