Orienteering at Sandall Beat Wood

On Wednesday 14th June, all of Year 4 went down to Sandall Beat Wood to take part in a local orienteering competition against other local schools. The weather was hot, but we were shaded under all of the trees. To start the competition, we were divided into groups of boys and girls, with 3 or 4 people in each team (A, B, C, and/or D). We had to all get to the start point before A and B would run to the first point and back, giving the sheet to C and D to run to the next point, like a relay race.

With help from our fabulous parents (Mrs Jane, Mrs Walker, Mr Singh, Mr Walker, Mr Smithson, and Mr Cannon), we all managed to fill in our sheets and get to all of the points. Even Miss Cannon, Mrs Bentley, and Miss Whiting had a go at running, though we were not nearly as quick as the children.

At the end of the day, the results were revealed. We placed.........

1st for Boys across Doncaster Year 3/4
2nd for Girls across Doncaster Year 3/4
We are so proud of all of the children! It was a great day in the woods!
