New Online Resources

Good morning

I hope you are all well?

I just wanted to let you know that from Monday Mr Campbell and I have set you some different online learning using new online resources.

The Government have worked with lots of teachers to produce new online lessons. Over the last two weeks, I have been trying the Y2 ones out with Joe and Mr Campbell and I like the look of the Year 6 materials.

You access the lessons by going to https://www.thenational.academy/online-classroom (Google Oak Academy or click on the link)
Next click on the schedule button and then Year 6.
It comes up with the days of the week and if you click on each day you will find an English and Maths lesson. There are other subjects but they don't match our WWII theme at the minute.
The week we will be using is always at the top. Next week will be Week 3 - May 4th.
The materials from the last two weeks are there if you want to use them too. They did fractions in week 1 and 2 week so if there is anything you want to revisit or you were unsure about take a look.

Each day there is a lesson that often includes a quiz, lesson input and then ideas for an activity for you to do at home by yourself. The teacher will also ask you questions to get you thinking throughout.
The answers are usually shared at the end of the task after you've had time to pause and complete it so that you can see how well you have done.

Mr Campbell and I will still share challenges, Bronze activities, a weekly comprehension from 'The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas' and activities linked with our wider curriculum topic.

Remember if you have any questions or can't find something, drop us an email and we will help.

Take care, stay safe and enjoy the sunshine today in your garden or on your daily walk.
