Changes to Home Learning

I just wanted to let you know that from Monday Mrs Sunley and I have set you some different online learning using new online resources.

The Government have worked with lots of teachers to produce new online lessons. Some of the other year groups have tried it out and it seems to be a good way to make things a little more fun.

You access the lessons by going to https://www.thenational.academy/online-classroom (Google Oak Academy or click on the link)
Next click on the schedule button and then Year 3
It comes up with the days of the week and if you click on each day you will find an English and Maths lesson. There are other subjects for you to have a look through too if you would like.
The week we will be using is always at the top.
The materials from the last two weeks are there if you want to use them too.
The maths for next week on the Oak Academy is around angles, which we had already started this week. This should make it easier to get used to using the videos and activities and provide you with a chance to practise what you have learnt on angles so far.

Each day there is a lesson that often includes a quiz, lesson input and then ideas for an activity for you to do at home by yourself. The teacher will also ask you questions to get you thinking throughout.
The answers are usually shared at the end of the task after you've had time to pause and complete it so that you can see how well you have done.

Mrs Sunley and I will still keep putting some  bronze activities, and activities linked with our Charlie and the Chocolate Factory topic - there are some good suggestions for next week, on the Home Learning Overview, about finding out about the history of chocolate.

Remember if you have any questions or can't find something, drop us an email and we will help.
