Hello Y2,

Refugee Week is an annual festival celebrating the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees. Refugee Week 2020 takes place next week and has the theme ‘Imagine’.

Watch this video - 'Help them feel at home' https://www.kazzum.org/refugee-week-2020/primary - it tells the story of a young refugee named Sana and a toy dinosaur named Dino and their difficult journey to find safety in the UK.
  • Talk to a grown up about what it means to be a refugee and what challenges a refugee faces.
  • How can you help a refugee feel at home?

'To imagine' means to picture something you can't currently see, and I invite you all to think about what we wish our world to be. I'll go first...

I imagine a world where everyone is kind to each other and respects each other.

What do you imagine?! You can...
  • Draw, paint, craft or write a poem or story about the world you want to see.
  • Write a poem or short story starting with ‘Imagine if…’ or ‘Imagine a world where…’
  • Imagine you had to leave your home behind. What would you take with you? What would you hope to find?

Look forward to receiving your creations!
Missing you all.
