Sandringham's Got Talent

posted 13 Jul 2020, 10:43 by Louise Sutton

I've been smiling from ear to ear all day today, as more and more entries have come through for our Sandringham's Got Talent. I've even had entries from some children who sit really quiet in our performing arts lessons!! It's been lovely to see the confidence...maybe we should do more things virtually, as its been so lovely to find some hidden talents, that I didn't know many of you had! I am already excited about being able to teach you again, and see how much you've grown, and developed and really looking forward to helping you ooze in confidence, once we can start our performing arts lessons again.

So if you haven't already it's not too late to send your entry in - I've had singing, dancing, instrumental playing and even some music skills related 'work' - keep sending them in, you have until 12pm on Wednesday, then look out on the blog for the winners, who will get certificates and a prize!

Dance and Music Festival

Last week I posted about Sandringham's Got Talent - virtual talent show and have asked you to send in your entries by video. Well today I have received a flyer about the trust holding a virtual arts festival wanting to celebrate the talent we have not just at Sandringham but also across the trust so my challenge to you is how many entries can we submit as a school? I've already a few from Y6, some from Y2 and a couple from Y4 so I'm really excited just to see how much hidden talent we really have at Sandringham! Remember to email your entries to arts@sandringham.school or share then with the Trust@ExceedLP

Rainy Day Activities

posted 8 Jul 2020, 03:56 by Lauren Watts

Hello Year 1

What are you doing on a rainy day like today?

Why not make a cosy den to read your favourite book, play a game of charades or pictionary, make up a dance routine to a song you like, put on a play for your family or even get your wellies on and splash outside?

Send any pictures of what you've been up to for a shout out to the class email.

Keep safe

Super Drawings!

posted 6 Jul 2020, 06:17 by Clare Linklater   [ updated 6 Jul 2020, 06:18 ]

Hey guys check out our superhero drawings! We worked really hard following the Liz Million video to create a range of fantastic superheroes to represent out school values. Which do you like? Can you draw your own superhero?

Performing Arts: Sandringham's Got Talent

posted 2 Jul 2020, 12:44 by Louise Sutton

Hello Year 1,

Miss Galloway and I have been doing some virtual singing with the Year 6 children today, so it got us thinking about your performing arts task over the next two weeks. It was so great just to sing, to Mr Campbell playing his guitar so we wondered whether we should have a talent show. Over the next two weeks we challenge you to think about what your act would be for Sandringham's Got Talent.

Practise it, video it and then send it in to arts@sandringham.school

We will then judge your acts and hopefully we will have a KS1 winner, LKS2 winner, and an UKS2 winner!

The closing date for your entry will be Wednesday 15th July at 12 noon.

Have fun, we can't wait to see what you come up with!

Mrs Sutton & Miss Galloway.

International Fruit Day

posted 1 Jul 2020, 05:59 by Lauren Watts

Good afternoon Year 1,

Today is International Fruit Day. What is your favourite fruit? What tasty fruit have you had today?

Could you use the fruit in your house to make a fruit cocktail, fruit kebab or even a fruit smoothie?

Keep safe.

Virtual Sports Week!

posted 29 Jun 2020, 01:18 by Lauren Watts

Good Morning Year 1,

I know we missed our sports day in school this year, so this is an exciting opportunity for you to take part in at home.
This virtual sports day has been organised by Activ8, a team who come in to school to support our PE sessions in school. This will start today and run for the full week, then they will look at the scores over the weekend and give you all the information to share your position participation on social media on Monday 6th.

Here are some links to help you get set up and prepared!

The first link is a Youtube link to show how each event is organised and ran, the second is our online forms to register our scores.

Good luck, have fun and let us know how you get on!
